Ex’s and nightmares

Why would someone, when a person has already said, “I don’t want to talk about this as you are going to try and row with me about it>” want to continue to talk about it and then complain that you were rude and uncivil and rowing? That just doesn’t make sense.

No, really, it doesn’t.

When a person knows your views on something, but insists on doing a) the opposite and b) telling you loudly and with swearing why they are right and you are wrong, why would you want to talk to them? That person is too selfish to change their views, too narrow minded to consider another point of view, too wrapped up in their own self obsessed self centred little world to tread out of it. They can’t help it perhaps, the depression which they use as a tool whenever they want sympathy does, in fact, have a handle on them – in which case they shouldn’t be doing the things they are doing anyway!

Ah well.

Can’t change the world. I’m happy in my bit, and me and mine are happy. Everyone else can try and be happy and we’ll help them be happy to the best of our ability. But if you are determined to try and be miserable, or to fight, or to row, or to be a pain in the rear end, then my dear, you’re on your own.

Civil tongues only please!

New Year, New Start?

Nah, I shouldn’t think so!

I’m back on the flywagon again, and it *does* work, and the Holiday Control Journal *did* make a difference to our lives this Christmas, meaning that the changes of plan that occured did not phase me in the slightest.  It’s good.

In other news the She-Ex isn’t speaking to me again (not sure why this time) but I can happily live with that, and the He-Ex is being a wombat.  He is a very intelligent man, but has no common sense, if you see what I mean.  For example.

On Monday I worked my socks off, the OH worked hard, even the AC worked hard to prepare the food and the house for a birthday party for a friend of ours.  We had a lovely evening.  However, having spent a long time cooking on Monday, I decided to have a bit of a relaxing and playing day yesterday.  I texted and phoned the He-Ex who was picking the AC up at 2, and tried  to ask if he was having hot or cold tea at his fathers. Eventually I got a text back saying hot food, so we had a McCack lunch for the first time in about 6 months.  And remembered why I don’t eat those.

When I spoke to the AC in the evening, he said he was having chip butty for his tea! We were most unimpressed with this and so I spoke to his father who said that as he had forgotton to take the spag bol out of the freezer they had had to have emergency tea. Fair enough said I, these things happen. 10 minutes later I phoned him back, to say “We have a spare microwave, would you like it?” thinking that the reason he hadn’t got the food out and nuked it was that he didn’t have one. Turns out he does have one, just didn’t think about it.

Very intelligent. IQ of more than most. (top 5% of population apparently) but NO COMMON SENSE!

Ah well.

Flymissions await! I can do anything 15 minutes at a time.

My day

I just blew my nose.

Then noticed I had got my own hair caught up in the tissue.

My day has been like that.

Bad day, in a stupid way.

HEY YOU!

If you’re here for the first time, and you know who you are, then HEY YOU!

BSF.

I’ll update this more often as well.

More reports

Now I’m doing the personal comments.

It’s hard to write things in a way that the parents will understand the subtext of, without being too obscure. And I’m not allowed to say that he’s a lying little git.

Soapnuts

Today my soapnuts arrived!

They are smallish (about 1cmish) and a bag is really quite large. I also got a small bag with mine for putting in the washing and so on. I’ve done one load which is drying now. I’ve also boiled some up to make ’soapnut juice’ which apparently can be used for anything you can think of, including shampoo!

I have also made bread today, downsized my bin and am using the larger one for recycling the tetrapak stuff which the lorry won’t take, made and frozen my own chicken stock from Sundays chicken, and had a jolly nice day with my mother and son to boot!

I shall leave it there, as I don’t want to depress myself by discussing the fireplace.

Nope.

Not going there.

Will go there tomorrow when it’s all sorted. And if it isn’t all sorted, then the manure will be hitting the wind turbine, so to speak.

Reports

I’m doing reports today.

Reports and housework. I so know how to live!

I’ve got the comments set up for the back page and I’m just dropping them in. The front page (Eng, Mat, Sci, ICT) takes more time, but the back page which is basically everything else doesn’t. Then I’ll just need to do the individual comments, and I’m done! I’m going to use Dragon 5 for those.

0757 – one done.

0802 – two done – going to work until 0815 then do some washing up. Might just bang on with this.

0815 – three done –

1205 -5 out of 27 left to do. I will do this before I shift to go and do other things.

1223 -3 more to go. One of which I can’t do until I speak to the childs 1-1 person. It’s not fair any other way.

1238 AND WE’RE DONE!

Feels like a new house!

This feels like a new house.  After a week of really hard evening work from Rich and I, but mostly him, the front room and middle room, connected as they are by a large double doorway that we took the doors off of, have swapped purposes.  The middle room now has the tv and the sofa, the other room now has the dining room furniture ect in it.  They look gorgeous.

We got a new wall unit from Freecycle, which is a dark red which goes with the fireplace. That is now in the dining room with the dining table and currently the two arm chairs, a book case and the computer table.  Three walls are willow green, and the other wall, the fireplace wall, is a hint of green.  The curtains are a rich dark green velvet and with the dark wood the whole room has come together.

The tv room is a buttermilk paint to halfway down the wall, and then a cream wallpaper with pale coffee coloured flower type things on it.  Sounds vile when I put it like that, but it’s not!  The floor currently has no carpet, and we’re debating leaving it that way and putting a hardwood floor down, but that’s expensive and we’re saving for the kitchen to be plastered, as well as a holiday either next year or late this year.  We have the carpet to go through both rooms upstairs, but there’s no point doing the carpet until the kitchen is done.

Rich has knackered himself doing this mind, but he’ll be ok.

In other news, my stepdaughter emailed me!  She wanted to email me!  How flaming amazing and wonderful is that? Not only that, but her mother did it for her! She emailed Daddy, Sam and me! And called me stepmom!

Question – do I persist with stepmUm or settle with stepmom? She’s living in the States. Answers on a comment please . . . .

Right.

Time to fly. It’s half term and I can reboot my routines and finish getting the house done.

And I wrote this in MS Word 2007 Home and Student Edition, and it just posted it here for me. How cool is that! I might actually a) post more often, and b)consider buying a proper copy of an MS product!

Planting

Last week I planted

Lupin seeds and corms (I think they’re called corms, anyway!)

4 different kinds of sunflower seeds

chives, parsley, basil, herb seeds

lettuce, tomato, beetroot, spring onion seeds.

(the last three are those sets that you can buy from Woolies and so on!)

lavender seeds

I alss got some plants from the garden centre, and planted sage, parsley and thyme into one trough, mint, and two others into another trough (Ill have a look and edit this later!) rosemary, mint, and lemon thyme.

Oh and some gladioli bulbs.

This week I have planted out the sunflowers which have grown beautifully and are now in peat pots, plus planted some more into a long trough.  I also planted cucumbers, more tomatoes, broccoli as seeds in the mini greenhouse.  The lupis are showing signs of growing, so now I need to see what to do with those next.  I love lupins and would love to fill the front with them in pots.  That’s the plan anyway.

Back on the Flywagon

Well, I’ve given in.

I’m back on the Flywagon. www.flylady.net and I have to say, I know it works.  I just have to stay on it.

I need my PDA so I can start my routine lists, but it’s at work - see how disorganised I am? However, my kitchen looks good, my front room looks better, my dining table had a meal eaten off of it at teatime, and we’ve had a builder round to discuss how much doing the ceiling and the fireplace will be.  (about £800 total)

But I’m going to bed at a not reasonable time. It’s not been the easiest of days, but it’s been good.
